Zoé Samudzi

Zoé Samudzi is a doctoral student at the University California—San Francisco studying the Herero & Nama genocide. She is a contributing writer for Jewish Currents, and her work has appeared in The New Republic, The New Inquiry, Art in America, Funambulist, and other places. With William C. Anderson, she is the co-author of As Black as Resistance: Finding the Conditions for Our Liberation (AK Press). Her research interests broadly include photography, the politics of visuality and witnessing, memory, surveillance, biomedicalization, and race-making.
