PRA Senior Research Analyst Frederick Clarkson has written about politics and religion for more than three decades. His work has appeared in a wide range of publications from Mother Jones, Church & State, and Ms. Magazine to The Christian Science Monitor, Salon.com and Religion Dispatches. He has worked as an investigative editor at Planned Parenthood Federation of America; as Communications Director at the Institute for Democracy Studies; and co-founded the group blog, Talk to Action. He is the author, co-author or editor of several books including Dispatches from the Religious Left: The Future of Faith and Politics in America and Eternal Hostility: The Struggle Between In the classical definition, a system in which governmental leaders are clergy. Editor of The Public Eye Magazine Kathryn Joyce is an author and journalist based in New York City. She is author of The Child Catchers: Rescue, Trafficking and the New Gospel of Adoption (PublicAffairs, 2013), and Quiverfull: Inside the Christian A system of social control characterized by rigid enforcement of binary sex and gender roles. Her freelance writing has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Highline, Pacific Standard, The New Republic, Mother Jones, The Nation, and many other publications.

State Senator John Marty has been a state senator since 1987. Throughout his career, John has consistently pushed for policies that promote fairness, equality and tolerance and is a strong advocate for government ethics, environmental protection, and universal health care. He is a graduate of St. Olaf College with a B.A. in Ethics. John and his wife Connie live in Roseville, MN.

An ex-evangelical writer, speaker, and advocate, Chrissy Stroop is (with Lauren O’Neal) coeditor of the essay anthology Empty the Pews: Stories of Leaving the Church. A senior correspondent for Religion Dispatches, her work has appeared in Dame Magazine, Foreign PolicyThe Boston GlobePlayboyPolitical Research Associates, and other outlets, including peer-reviewed academic journals. Holding a PhD in modern Russian history from Stanford University, Stroop is a Senior Research Associate with the University of Innsbruck’s Postsecular Conflicts project. In 2019 Chrissy came out as a A term used for someone whose gender is not (exclusively) the one they were assigned at birth. Learn more woman and began her journey of medical transition. She resides in Portland, Oregon.

Rev. Dr. Cari Jackson is the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice’s Director of Spiritual Care and Activism. Dr. Cari collaborates with religious and community leaders, advocating for reproductive freedom as a vital aspect of human dignity and divine integrity. Cari seeks to help foster a society in which religious pluralism and cultural diversity are valued, as she believes society’s greatness is reflected in its demonstrated commitment to honor, care for and nurture each individual, especially those most marginalized. She coaches leaders to strengthen their capacity and courage as agents of social healing and transformation. She is a minister in the United Church of Christ, grew up in the Pentecostal Church, and participates regularly in other spiritual traditions. Dr. Cari has a Ph.D. in Christian Social Ethics and is the author of several books.
