Sally Kohn pens an important piece about U.S. society’s habit of envisioning perpetrators of crimes like rape, abuse, or even mass-shootings as automatically people of color. In reality, the perpetrators of these crimes are frequently young, White, men. Kohn draws on PRA’s article written after the killing spree by Elliot Rodger in 2014 which discussed the national statistic of the gender and race of mass-shooters.
