Darren Sherkat

Darren E. Sherkat is Professor of Sociology at Southern Illinois University. He has been editor of Review of Religious Research, and serves on the editorial board of several social scientific journals, including Social Science Research, The Sociological Quarterly, and Social Currents. His recent books are Changing Faith: The Dynamics and Consequences of Americans’ Shifing Religious Identities, (NYU Press) and Religion and Inequality in America: Research and Theory on Religion’s Role in Stratification with Lisa Keister (Cambridge Univ. Press). Sherkat’s research focuses on the dynamics of American religion, religion and ethnicity, politics, and stratification.
