David R. Blumenthal

David R. Blumenthal taught at Brown University from 1973-1976. For the past 40 years, he has been the Jay and Leslie Cohen Professor of Judaic Studies at Emory University where he was instrumental in building the Jewish Studies program. Among his numerous published works are: Understanding Jewish Mysticism, Philosophic Mysticism: Essays in Rational Religion, and God at the Center. He is also the subject of a book in the series Library of Contemporary Jewish Philosophers, ed. by H. Tirosh-Samuelson and A. Hughes, entitled David R. Blumenthal: Living with God and Humanity. He has curated Salvador Dali’s “Aliyah, the Rebirth of Israel” and has worked to establish an internet database for Israeli and Topical Judaica Philately.
