Miss Conception

Miss Conception holds both a masters in divinity and a doctorate in the history and comparative study of religion. She recently retired after 35 years of teaching and scholarship. Her areas of expertise include theory of religion, critical theory, post colonial theory, philosophical theology, and women and gender studies; she was particularly trained in Christian traditions though she possesses a generalist’s knowledge of other traditions as well. She presumes in her episodic postings to clarify current confusions about religious life and practice abounding in American culture—with a hats-off to Miss Manners and in memory of Molly Ivins.
