In the early afternoon on November 11, 2019, 250,000 people marched through the streets of Warsaw, intentionally and unintentionally participating in a March of Independence organized by far-right organizations and political parties.

Piotr Kocyba works on illiberal social activism. His research interest began with a survey and participatory observation during a PEGIDA demonstration in Dresden. PEGIDA (Patriotic Europeans against the Islamization of Europe) is the most successful right-wing protest movement in post-war Germany. Piotr is now leading a research project that surveys protestors in Poland, focusing mainly on the little-studied right- wing demonstrations.
