Tefere Gebre
Tefere Gebre is Executive Vice President of the AFL-CIO. Born in Ethiopia, he came to the U.S. as a political refugee when a teenager. He joined the Teamsters while working his way through college. When he came to lead the labor movement in Orange County, CA, Mr. Gebre doubled the federation’s size and strength there.
