In the Values Voter Summit exhibit hall, amongst the expected array of conservative propaganda — the latest evangelical and right-wing books; recruitment booths from conservative universities; and political and advocacy organizations with pamphlets describing — one poster seemed out of place with its massive image of a lipstick-red stiletto.

Just another day at the Values Voters Summit.

This year’s Values Voters Summit will be a shock to all who have claimed that the Christian Right is dead or about to breathe its last. Several thousand registrants are jamming into the Omni Shoreham hotel in Washington, D.C. this weekend for the annual political conference of the Christian Right hosted by, among others, the Family Research Council (FRC) Action, American Family Association (AFA) Action, and the Heritage Foundation.

They like us. They really, really like us. Sort of.

Thousands of potential campaign volunteers will throng the halls of the Christian Right’s Values Voter Summit in Washington D.C. tomorrow and Saturday — and Political Research Associates will be there too, blogging about how the Christian Right is framing this election.

Our job is to keep separate the spiritual and temporal, church-state, metaphysical and physical where all the nuclear weapons are. We’re doing this in the technologically most lethal organization ever created by humankind—our U.S. military.
