Environment & Climate

The threat of Generically used to describe factions of right-wing politics that are outside of and often critical of traditional conservatism. Learn more approaches to the environment and climate can be seen in movements ranging from the ecofascist Right’s bigoted misanthropy disguised as conservation, to the climate denialist corporations and politicians willfully ignoring and/or misrepresenting the realities of climate change. Ecofacism especially continues to thrive on White nationalist, A term used to describe organizations, movements, ideas, and policies that oppose immigrants and immigration. Learn more , anti-immigration, anti-globalization, anti-modernity, and authoritarian and fascist perspectives. As Alex Amend writes, “The devaluing of human life—particularly of populations seen as inferior—in order to protect the environment viewed as essential to White identity is at the core of Far Right environmentalism and ecofascist thought. The ecofascist dream is a not just a White ethnostate but a ‘green’ one too.” At the same time, PRA’s body of work on the Environment & Climate explores the ways climate crises are denied, turned into profit schemes, or wielded to further nativist and reactionary politics.
