Alyssa Bowen
Alyssa A. Bowen, PhD, is the Deputy Director of True North, a watchdog group that shines a light on key state and national players impeding fair courts, voting rights, equality, and climate change mitigation. Her work has focused on the special interest groups attacking public education, LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive justice, and other freedoms. Alyssa’s research and analysis have been featured in The Guardian, Politico, Slate, Popular Information, Axios, and more. She has had bylines in The Nation, Ms. Magazine, Rethinking Schools, Rewire News Group, and Truthout, where she is a regular contributor. She received her PhD in History from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
