Raw Story reporter Travis Gettys covers PRA’s new research article on the Christian Right’s campaign to redefine religious freedom. Gettys points out that while Americans have famously been granted religious exemptions before (from military service, medical treatments, etc.), what’s different about recent legal challenges is that the Christian Right—including evangelical, Catholic, and Mormon leaders—is claiming that individuals and for-profit corporations should be allowed to decide for themselves which laws to follow.
