Teen Vogue: Fascism, Explained

While some groups in attendance openly identified themselves as fascists or sympathize with fascists, there’s debate over how many would actually consider themselves as such. Spencer Sunshine, an associate fellow at Political Research Associates, told The Guardian that the rally was originally conceived to be more about supporting the “patriot movement,” promoting white culture, denouncing immigration, and advocating far-right politics, but after anti-government groups decided not to attend and blatantly fascist groups joined in, Sunshine said the event became “increasingly Nazified.”
